Normally I wouldn’t offer up mommy advice. I like getting advice from women who’s children were babies a long time ago. My kid is barely 10 months old & I feel I lack the street cred essential for giving useful tips to other moms. However, I would like to advise pregnant women of all ages: Do not watch The Notebook under any circumstance!
Here’s the deal, my kid is teething. The first tooth, bottom right, took roughly 4 months to surface. Three weeks later his front right tooth came in on a Friday evening. The left one showed no mercy and arrived the next morning. Luckily I had made a batch of fruitsicles; homemade popsicles made with pureed fruit. While I was waiting on the drugs to kick in and homeopathic gel to coax the pain, these bomb pops of goodness helped soothe his irritated gums.

To make fruitsicles, you will need: fruit, blender or food processor, popsicle molds, freezer space & give or take 15 min. of prep time. I like to use lighter colored fruits like honeydew melon, pears, bananas & apples to minimize the stain factor. Remove the skin & seeds from the ripe fruit, drop in to your food processor and press the on button. You want the mixture to have some texture. If it is too thin, add some apple sauce. If its too thick, thin with H2O. If that is too vague, blend 1 med. Honeydew, 1 pint fresh blueberries & 1 banana and that is the texture you are looking for. Pour mixture in to molds. Fill to about a 1/4 in. from the top, replace the handle and freeze thoroughly.

I forgot to mention these are naturally sweet and a good source of fiber. The best part is there is no recipe; use what ever fruit you have on hand. You can even be fancy and go organic!
