I heard if you keep green onions in H2O the tops will begin regrow.  Thus you will never have to buy green onions again!  I suppose this method is handy, provided you only require a few tablespoons of green onions every couple of weeks.  After all, this isn’t that big of a money saving tip.  At .50/bunch, you could save a whopping $26 per year!
~ Anyone picking up on the sarcasm here? 

Because I am interested in how quickly the onions will regenerate, I have decided to put this claim to the test.  It is my hypothesis, this will be super convenient when needing a last minute fresh garnish to pump up a latka or to transform eggs into a frittata.  I am not convinced this will meet all of your green onion needs.  Pictured are days 1 through 3 starting from the left…already seeing some action.  High Five!
